Dont buy December 31, 2008 Mr. N. P. Turner (Northampton, England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The product looks good but dont buy it. You can not connect it to your computer so how do you transfer the pictures to the frame. Its pointless, you can only view pictures from a card, my pictures are on my computer and i send them to a cheaper much better frame. DOES NOT DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN> a bad xmas present
What a great present December 12, 2008 Ralph Gillard (England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had this as a present for my birthday, I have put it up on the wall, it looks great. One of the best presents I have received in a long time. I am using a 2Gb stick with over 1000 photos, just got it to do random photo with random transition, I could look at it for hours. The pictures are crystal clear and look like prints. Well done Polaroid.
Traditional looks will fool you July 2, 2008 Snuggsy (Kent, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bought this frame a month ago and, while I agree to some extent with previous comments, I still think it's worth it. In daylight, you wouldn't know this was a digital photo frame - it's that good. I too had dust under the glass which, while frustrating, is not noticeable. Equally, the picture is a little grainy on certain shots (have not figured out the link on which ones aren't and which ones are).
All that said, we have ours on the mantelpiece alongside other photos - it's at a distance from points of viewing (prob about same distance as TV) and none of these factors are noticeable at this distance. We get great pleasure from seeing people's positive reaction when noticing the frame and then informing them it's digital. It makes a welcome change from the small glass high-design frames available and blends in with the room really nicely.
Resolution isn't everything May 21, 2008 Neil (West Sussex, UK) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I went to a local retailer and looked at a couple of frames and was taken with how "photo-like" this one actually looked and the sheer size of the display. The frame actually looks like a genuine picture frame rather than a digital display.
Amazon were selling it for 40 less so I thought I'd give it a go. Yikes, what a mistake! The frame couldn't feel cheaper if it tried. Despite the spec (800x600 res etc) the piture is grainy and out of focus. There was dust on the inside of the glass of the frame (as well as dead pixels). But worst of all, the picture was crooked. It put blank lines top and bottom and the picture was displayed at a slant.
The user interface looks like something from a ZX81.
I used to have a Philips foto frame and couldn't understand why they were so much more expensive. Now I know. You get what you pay for (although sadly the philips one died and philips response was "tough, we don't repair them". 170 in the can!)
The only saving grace is Amazon's excellent returns policy.
I will order a different frame from Amazon but I'll stick to Kodak or Philips.
Do NOT buy this item, I garantee you you will be disapointed.
