Excellent for what it is December 21, 2008 Balthazar (Horsham, UK) This tripod fits excellently into a small pocket when folded up- an incredibly useful feature, allowing it to be taken anywhere where you would take a camera. Of course this does mean that it is quite small - around 8 inches tall with the legs fully extended, but as long as that is all you want then this fits the bill very well. It seems very well built, and quite stable; I can't envisage having problems with it falling over, or the camera falling off. As the legs extend independently of each other, it can stand easily on uneven surfaces, which is a bonus.
Almost 5 stars, but not quite.
Looks good feels good. Quality November 29, 2008 Red Frank (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you can imagine Action Man in the 1920s and he's just about to film Charley Chaplin with his hand cranked camera, and if this tripod were made of wood it would be the exactly the right size, if you see what I mean.
This compact tripod is made of metal, feels good, looks good and is a quality piece of kit. With free delivery it took about 4 days to arrive, brilliant.
Great for Compact Cameras September 5, 2008 Chris R (Devon, UK) I wanted this mini tripod to go with my Canon Ixus 75 camera to take nightime/low light shots without a flash. This tripod is perfect for that size camera and can fit easily in my pocket (either with or without the material case that's included).
The only minor criticism I have would be that the legs sometimes struggle to stay fully extended, but with a compact camera this is rarely an issue.
I have recently purchased a DSLR (D60) and have been using this tripod with it while I decide on which larger tripod to buy. For occasional use with the DSLR this mini tripod works very well, but just make sure the legs are fully extended as I've had it fall over with a heavy lense on the camera!
Overall the product is very well made, has a quality feel to it and is a great tool for progressing from flash photography to using slower shutter speeds for more interesting and creative low light photography.
Oh yes June 1, 2008 BigBadDog (Heathfield) Why haven't you got one of these. It's the best bargin you'll ever get with 'Sony' stamped on it. Everything that the other reviewers say is true. It even fits my ancient, but excellent, 1980s SLR camera.
Broke! January 2, 2008 S. Randall (Leeds, UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was initially very pleased with mine. However, after a little use the screw became stiff to turn and then broke completely. I guess if you buy a cheap tripod, that's what you get.
