a little disappointed.... January 1, 2009 Nic (bristol, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have recently purchased this camera as an xmas pressie for myself - firstly I was torn between the T700, T77 and even the T300, but the 700 won due to the draw of the internal memory. The camera is lovely looking - fits into your pocket easily (something I was looking for as I want to take it on holiday - and this was an alternative to lugging about my SLR). The touch screen is quite easy to use, but it just takes so long to switch between modes (having had several sony camera's before, the old dial system was quick and easy, but I suppose the camera is far too thin to put it on this one!). The lag time between shots seems to take a long time as well - one of my main reasons for buying a sony is that the Lag is hardly anything, making it easy to take consecutive shots. I have played about with it at a New Years Eve party and am disappointed to see that some of the shots are blurry.
I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a small slimline camera - but I am thinking maybe the T77 or even the older T300 version may have been a better buy!?
Ideal present December 14, 2008 Dr. G. J. Mcpherson (N.Yorkshire UK) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this for my wife's birthday and she was amazed. Its cute, light, sleek and with a quick twenty minute battery top up she was ready to go and play. At her party the smile recognition had them raising eyebrows but pretty soon the girls had lined up to try it and all went home to badger husbands and partners for one. It is very sleek, solid yet light and the lens cover provides ideal protection. The flash functions are really good and even better -automatic! so no duff pictures. The screen is huge and the touch menus are easy to understand and navigate. The internal storage is amazing - I can't see any need to buy any extra storage for quite some time. One great feature of this is the ability to show friends, parents etc a series of your photos (by date or event etc) and it provides a slide show with music (if you want) and the screen is big and bright enough that three or four of you can view it at once. All in all a great camera and in my opinion the price is fantastic considering you don't actually need any additional storage 4Gb is huge ! The bundled software is a nice touch and allows you to store all you photos and touch up (i.e. red eye etc)/crop as necessary. Truly is a nice peice of kit and right now at the top of the game
