The Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III provides everything that a professional photographer is going to want out of a SLR.

This camera offers a 21 mega pixel at a full frame resolution. Finally, thanks to advances in software, any left over particles are detected and can be removed using the delete dust function in the available software.

The 3 inch LCD screen gives you the opportunity to see your shots as soon as you take them or use it to watch for the perfect moment. The ISO range is between 100 and 1600 or L50 H3200. Other features include a 14 bit A/D processing capability with DIGIC III processors. The camera also offers you the ability of five frames per second with a maximum 56 JPEGs burst.

Canon EOS Rebel XSi EF-S 18-551S Kit

EOS REBEL XSi EF-S 18-551S KIT

Canon's professional level cameras are something to search out, purchase, and keep forever.  The Canon EOS Rebel XSi EF-S 18-551S Kit is no exception.  This kit comes with many advantages that would make it hard to have a need for anything more.

This digital SLR camera works with the ease of a point-and-shoot camera, while offering benefits to enhance in such a manner that could make Ansel Adams or Monet jealous.  The kit includes an EF-S 18-55mm lens with f/3.5-5.6 capabilities.  With a 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, optical image stabilizer, Digic III image processing and dual platform, both Mac and PC, compatibility, this could be someone's dream machine.

Lauded for its excellent image quality, ease of use, and good battery life the EOS Rebel XSi is used as a primary camera for many professionals and hobbyists worldwide.  Advanced clarity is possible with Canon's CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor as it captures images that have an enhanced color range.  The Digic III image processor offers a dramatic difference between the Rebel and its competitors.  Noise is a thing of the past with this processor. The quality is that akin to film photography and speeds of all operations of the camera, making it workable in any lighting situation.

Smooth transition from light to dark is made possible with the 14-bit A/D converter as it processes images with much less banding than any camera previously produced.  The photographer can take images in jpeg or RAW format, or even a combination of the two.  Jpegs have been the standard n digital photography and as technology advances, so does the quality of the jpeg.  For even more clear and perfect imagery, the RAW format is the choice to make.  It takes the image from the electronic media (digital camera and processors), does not change/compress it like the jpeg does, and gives the photographer a means of producing artful masterpieces.  With the auto optimization, the Rebel can further enhance the image to bring crisp and true detail to your subject.

The photographs taken with your EOS Canon Rebel XSi EF-S can be saved to SD and SDHC memory cards and range in size from .8MB (low resolution) to 15.3MB (RAW mode).   Consecutive numbers, auto reset, and manual reset options are available to the consumer.  The images you take will be saved in sRGB or Adobe RGB, allowing for user defined picture styles, as well.  The white balance can be bracketed or set for automatic on any photo taken.

Accessories available for the XSi-ES include remote switches so that you can step out from behind the lens, this camera is able to use any ES or EF Canon lens, video cables, remote controls, and several filters can be put on to the camera.

The Canon EOS Rebel XSi EF-S 18-551S Kit offers a quick start-up time and a 3.5 LCD screen for easy viewing and shooting.  It is quiet, and solid in performance, yet lightweight and very portable.  This camera can be taken on a road trip, hiking, or is great for studio use.  Whatever your subject matter, this Canon can be the choice for you!

Canon Powershot G10

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:17 pm

Are you looking for the grandpappy of digital SLRs?  Can you handle professional level features?  Then you are probably looking for the Canon PowerShot G10.  Advanced amateur photographers have always loved the G series from Canon and you will not be disappointed with this third generation baby.  She offers you 14.7 megapixels, a 28mm wide-angle lens, red-eye correction, and 5.0x optical zoom.

Canon's Digic 4 Image Processor improves your images in several ways.  Brilliant color, smooth gradations, and sharp focus are kept in check.  Processing speeds are accelerated to enable continuous shooting.  Not only that, but the Digic 4 even lets you shoot high definition movies.  Face detection is adjusted for premium quality prints.  The technology will find the faces within the scene to correct focus, exposure, flash and white balance.  You can even track certain faces in the crowd if you need to.  Have you already started to depress the shutter button and someone has moved at the last minute?  Don't worry the Servo AF will save you.

The motion detection technology found on the Canons work not only to catch facial movement, but other movement as well.  It will also catch camera shake, changes between each frame, and changes in brightness.  With all of this packed into this camera, you don't really need to worry about blurred pictures anymore.  You can view everything you shoot on the three-inch LCD screen that offers you true color in 460,000 dots.

The G10 comes with a focal length of 6.1-30.5mm, which is equivalent to a 35mm film camera's 28-104mm lens.  You can shoot from within two feet all the way down to within one inch.  This encompasses a phenomenal range!  You can even reach a digital 20x zoom.  The aperture settings are from f2.8 on the wide angle to f4.5 on the telephoto lens.  Shutter speed is 15-1/4000 second, and is settable in Tv and M modes.

Exposure controls are also pretty awesome on the G10.  The ISO sensitivity is 80 through 1600 and can actually be set on automatic so the camera can figure it out for you if you need it to.  Light metering methods are adjustable and can be chosen from Evaluative, center-weighted or spot.  When you use the spot, the metering frame is fixed to the center and when you use Evaluative, the control uses facial brightness from the AF face detection.  There are different methods to control the exposure.  These include program, shutter speed priority, aperture-priority, I-Contrast, manual, and auto ISO shift.  All of these offer you a wide range of adjustments to aid you in perfect image making.

When you are in search of more help, other features are still yet available.  They include shooting modes that you can choose from, including a Special Scene feature where you just tell the camera what type of scene you have in front of you, and it will figure out all the proper settings so you can have artwork for your walls.  The Canon PowerShot G10 can be accessorized with multiple lenses, flashes, and lens filters to give you even more of a professional look.

Sometimes you may wish to find that middle category camera.  You're beyond beginner but shy of the all out professional.  The Canon PowerShot A100 IS fits into this category.  It uses the Digic III image processor, a 4.x optical zoom, face detection automation, and can soar to ISO 1600.  This puppy packs a lot of wallop!

You can customize the camera and customize the images.  These cameras come in different two-tone colors to match your wardrobe.  They come with optical image stabilizer that will keep your subjects clear and focused.  Camera shake can lead to out of focus pictures and the stabilizer's technology will compensate to rid your image of the blurriness.  The stabilizer will also assist with pictures taken at dusk, indoors without a flash or when you use the zoom function without a tripod.  It will optically counter movement and vibration, as well as image degradation.

The Digic Image Processor enhances the quality of your picture so that you can produce portraits up to 13x19 with ease.  The dots will not become too large, and detail will not be lost.  Noise reduction is offered for higher the ISO speeds to compensate so that colors and subjects remain true.  Automation key to this purchase.  iSAPS (Intelligent Scene Analysis) technology allows for autofocus, auto exposure auto white balance.  The whole scene within the viewfinder is analyzed and, with no effort from the photographer, adjusted for precision and clarity that rivals the human eye.  Face Detection technology will check your images for movement, illuminate the subject and the background when necessary, base the flash exposure on the location of your subject in the image, and provide true-to-life skin tones while keeping the white balance intact.  Pixels can be compensated for with the Intelligent Contrast Correction so that dark areas are lightened and the areas that are too bright are adjusted so that there is no burn out.

The LCD displays vivid color displays with a scratch resistant surface.  Resolution and contrast are also viewable from any angle.  You can view single images or images as a slideshow on the A1000 with one hundred percent coverage.  Shooting modes encompass automatic, nigh snapshots, landscapes, portraits, kids and pets or sunsets.  Simply select what type of scene you have in front of you and let the camera do the rest!  The lens lets the photographer take pictures from a normal distance to within inches.  The built in flash uses Evaluative controls with the metering frame a fixed center.  Are you tired of ending up with alien red eye?  This camera has red-eye reduction to adjust the image for human features.

Accessories available for the A1000 IS include battery packs, high power flashes, battery chargers, tripods, carrying cases, SDHC memory cards, SD memory cards and accessory kits, as well.

Reviews are a consistent five out of five stars. Most people have fallen in love with the easiness and excellent image quality and conclude that the battery has a very good life.  PC Magazine, October 2008, voted the A1000 Editor's Choice.  So, for that step up from a point-and-shoot, the Canon A1000 IS is the right bet!
